we are all different!

Olivia related this story to me this evening. Apparently there is a difficult boy in her class who likes to give her a hard time. Lately it has been about the fact that she can't run fast enough for soccer. He wouldn't let her play in the recess soccer game. She tried to prove she could run fast, and he didn't buy it. So she gave him a lecture:

"Everyone is different, Michael. Some people can run fast and some people can't. Some people can ride ponies and some can't. Some people are from China and some are from Pennsylvania. Some are good at math and some people aren't.  Everyone is good at something and everyone is different. And it's OK that we are all different. And if we want to play soccer we can."

She concluded her story with: "I think Michael realized it is OK that everyone is different, even if I can't run fast."
